Biological Determinism

“Biological determination” is a term used in some sociological and feminist literature to describe the belief that human behavior is controlled by an individual’s genes. I believe there is some truth to biological determinism. An individual may be more suspecitible to certain things if their parents had a history in a particular area. Such as alcoholism. Not saying that if someones mother was an alcoholic that they will automatically become one themselves; it could just mean that they are susepible to drinking versus someone who has parents that don’t drink. However, from the opoosite end of the spectrum, if someone has a parent that was or is an alcoholic, that may reinforce them to stand clear of alcohol because they seen how the substance had negative lasing effects on their loved one and ones around them.
